Obituary for Mayard L. Yoder

Mayard L. Yoder, 78, of Chesapeake, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018.
Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Earl and Effie Yoder. He was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Mayard will be remembered for his love of hunting, football and Christian music.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Peggy B. Yoder; children, Gene Yoder (Ruth), Vicky Smith (Jason), Becky Bowers (Bobby), and Phyllis Floyd (Rob); grandchildren, Sarah, Lizzy, Sam, Jason, and Jacob; a brother, Martin Yoder (Linda), as well as a large extended family.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church Cemetery, 2041 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake.
