Obituary for Henry M. Scheepers, Jr.

Henry M. Scheepers, Jr., 83, of Chesapeake, went to be with the Lord peacefully, in the dignity of his home, Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Henry M. Scheepers, Sr. and Dorothy Hill Respass. Henry retired from Virginia Power after 40 years. He was a long-time member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and an avid golfer at Kempsville Greens Golf Course. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with family and friends. A humble and devoted man of few words, you always knew where you stood with Henry!
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Barbara; four children; Julia Ann Trevillian (Mark), W. Scott Scheepers (Darlene), Elizabeth Corliss (David) and Julie Setterlund (Christian); seven grandchildren; a brother, Daniel J. Scheepers (Joan), as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s International or to The First Tee.
