Shirleyann Kneeland Clement died January 21, 2013 in Hampton, VA, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Portland on March 13, 1926 and graduated from Deering High School in 1944. She also lived in Brewer, Maine; Manchester, Merrimack and Laconia, NH; New Port Richey, FL and Chesapeake and Hampton, VA..
She was known for her devotion to her family and her love for and faith in Jesus.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Fred W. Clement of Hampton, VA. She is also survived by her three children, Roger Clement of Naples, Cheryl Demos of Cape Charles, VA, and Kathryn Wainwright of Corona, CA.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Roger Clement, Jr, Christine McArdle, Brian Clement, Mark Clement, Shannon Bayona, Brittany Voyles, Ashley Debrosse, Courtney Demos and Jason Hentrich.
She also has twenty-three great grandchildren: Ben, Annie, William, Allie, Sarah, Camille, Zeke, Brooke, Eva, Maisy, Tyler, Caleb, Joshua, Nolan, Naomi, Sarah, Hannah, Noah, Jacob, Luke, Emma, Taylor and Ashley.
Shirley loved to be with her family and will be remembered for her love of board games and card games. She was well known for her love and compassion for people, and she had a gift for bringing joy to everyone she came in contact with. She loved golfing, boating and gardening and was very active in Bible Studies and church activities.
She will be greatly missed, and as her friends and family mourn her loss, we rejoice in the knowledge of her salvation, and in the assurance that she is in Heaven.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Forest Hills Annex Cemetery in Bridgton, ME, at 1:00 on Monday, January 28, 2013. A reception and time of remembrance will follow at the Cornerstone Church in Naples from 1:30 -3:30 p.m.
