Dorothy Elizabeth Leive, 90, of Chesapeake, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2013 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Dorothy was born on December 5, 1922 to Frank Henry Hooper, Sr. and Cora Belle Farris Hooper and was predeceased by her husband Duane Henry Leive. She retired from the State of Iowa Department of Revenue before coming to Chesapeake in 2006. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Pioneer Chapter, Independent Order of Foresters and various church organizations at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Survivors include her son, Daniel Leive of Chesapeake, VA; her daughters, Diana Plummer of Conifer, Colorado and Donna Burgess of Lakewood, Colorado; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all of the nurses, support staff and physicians at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center and the staff and residents at Cedar Manor Assisted Living for the care and compassion they showed Dorothy.
